The Primary Contact is the person responsible for managing an EMQN account. If you are currently the Primary Contact and want to make somebody else the Primary Contact because you are leaving the organisation or changing job, then please follow the following instructions.

 Pleae note: You should not just replace your name on your account or give the future Primary Contact your password.


Only the current Primary Contact can make someone else the new Primary Contact. If the Primary Contact has left and you cannot access the account please contact us.


You should ensure that the new Primary Contact is aware of any outstanding charges on the account and any schemes that the organisation is currently registered for.. If you are also the Billing Contact on the account then the new Primary Contact will also be made the Billing Contact. The billing contact is the person to whom invoices are addressed.

If you are moving to another organisation which has an account with EMQN, please ask the Primary Contact to add you to their account as a new Member of Staff.


Changing the Primary Contact

If the new Primary Contact is not linked to the account you will have to add them to the account as a New Member of Staff. If they already have an account please skip to Step 2:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click on Manage staff in the left hand menu
  3. Click on Add Staff Member at the bottom of the page
  4. Enter their details
  5. Select what permissions you want them to have. As they are going to be the new Primary Contact you should select the 3 permissions by shift selecting them
  6. Click on Add
  • Step 2: Make a staff member the Primary Contact

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click on Manage staff in the left hand menu
  3. Click on the green Reassign Primary Contact icon next to the name of the person you want to make the new Primary Contact.
  4. Reply "No" to the question "Are you leaving the lab?" Or you will instantly be unable to log in.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. You will now be logged out and the person you chose to become the Primary Contact will now have the appropriate permissions. They will be able to remove you from the account if they wish to by clicking the blue "-" sign in front of your name.
  7. You should now get the new Primary Contact to log in and ensure that the details are correct.
