The Certificate of Participation displays the performance data for a laboratory for each EQA scheme participation in a given scheme year or season.
EMQN cannot provide an individual Certificate of Participation for every EQA scheme a laboratory participates in.
Participation in EQA is part of the diagnostic test regulatory framework. Therefore, as an organisation that is assessing laboratory performance, EMQN has an obligation / duty of care to correctly describe the performance of a laboratory in every EQA scheme they take part in. This is also a requirement of our accreditation to ISO17043. Consequently, EMQN only issues one Certificate of Participation per year. This single certificate is updated throughout the scheme year if additional EQA schemes are undertaken at different timepoints in the calendar. Providing a single certificate ensures that anyone viewing it (including regulatory bodies) are provided with a summary of ALL relevant performance metrics undertaken by the laboratory.
